Important Gears needed for Extreme Sports

Do you want to get into extreme sports? If you do, then there are a lot of it in store for you. It will just depend on your preference and capability. Before you get into it, you must make sure that you are physically fit and capable in performing these tasks. Being in the extreme world would mean that there is an inherent danger, and it needs a lot of power and protection. This kind of sport would involve a different environment, just like in water, land, and air. As you read further we will be discussing some common extreme sports with their necessary gears. All extreme games always have a gear requirement. Without the needed gear, it could possibly lead to injury and worst is death.

Let us start first with the extreme sports in water. These would include water skiing, cliff diving, surfing, scuba diving, and open water swimming. What are the needed gears for these kinds of extreme sports? The most important equipment you need is a life jacket since the activity will deal largely on water. There are two types of a life jacket. We have the inflatable and the non-inflatable jacket. When using an inflatable life jacket always make sure that the gear does not have tiny holes. If in case you are in doubt of the inflatable life jacket then might as well use a non-inflatable one. Aside from life jackets, you will also need to have a wetsuit. This apparel is conducive for water use only. This is available in different style and comes with dark to light colors. For waters with predators, the use of dark colored suits is not encouraged. It is because a person on a black suit will be mistaken as a pray (sea lion) by sharks and killer whales. A wetsuit is also composed of a non-absorbable cloth which facilitates a lighter body weight in water.

If you are into scuba diving you would definitely need an oxygen tank. This gear will be the one to provide air for you to breath. When you are inhaling air make sure you are doing it with pursed lips. This technique will prevent the water from entering the mouth piece. The next gear you need is the goggles. There are some water sports that do not really need this type of gear but for first timers a piece of goggles is very important to avoid water irritation. Today, experts introduced the swimmer’s tag to the market. This is a piece of a device used to locate a person under water in case of emergency. The tag has its own code that is scanned and identified through radar or a GPS device. Another gear needed for extreme water sports is a flipper. This is available in different sizes and styles. This may depend on the kind of water sport you are in. This may be applicable to scuba diving, open water swimming, and snorkeling.

Now let us move on to the most common extreme sports on land and their required gears. Extreme games would include skateboarding, car racing, mountain biking, snowboarding and many more. No matter what type of extreme land sport you are in you should always remember to put on body protectors. This is very important since this will minimize injury to your head and your four extremities. A piece of goggles is not really used for land games except for personal preferences. The gears needed for those who are into the mountain climbing would include tough ropes, clips, rings, hooks, pulley, and a piece of a light weighted hammer. Protective gears such as helmets, extremity pads, and body ropes are also necessary for mountain climbers.

Now let us talk about the most common extreme sports on air. This would include bungee jumping, sky diving, parachuting, and hang gliding. What are the gears needed for this kind of sport? The primary and the most important gear that you will definitely need is an emergency parachute. Before using the parachute make sure that it works properly by checking the whole parts including the trigger. Most accidents occur because of the victim’s failure to check on his or her gear.  Always remember to consider first your safety no matter what type of extreme sports you are in.
